Contraception

Our contraception service is mainly nurse led - we are able to offer a wide range of contraceptives including:

• Oral Contraception:

• The Combined Pill: Combined pill - NHS
• The Mini Pill: Progestogen-only pill - NHS
• These are available via the GP Practice, but also available from most Pharmacies in York- it is worth an online search of the particular pharmacy to confirm they offer the service.

• Emergency Contraception:

• Is available at the GP Practice and also from many Pharmacies across York

• Contraceptive Injections:

• Such as Depot Provera or Sayana Press: Contraceptive injection - NHS

• Implant:

• Contraceptive implant - NHS

PMG offers Implant fittings and exchanges.

To request an appointment for a fitting or exchange- please request via the Appointment Tile.

Please note; National Guidance has recently changed and the Contraceptive Implant is effective as a contraceptive for 5yrs (previously 3yrs).

• Coils:
